How do you like the CT foot unit Sam? They were prone to breaking not too long ago, where the strap runs through them. Wonder if they solved that?

Thanks for the kudos everyone. Mike I have worked with back in my kitchen days. Turns out, he also had worked for the big orange outfit. Dude just rocks on the ropes.. Jason has some cool back ground on oil rigs and such. Has a good feel for the ropes as well and seems to be coming along on climbing and felling. I am really quite proud of the crew.

The CT is very comfortable. It's tighter to my ankle and more stable than the CMI I've been using. I'll let you guys know if the backing plate shits out on it. It'll see some use, so we'll find out. . .

Me, I just had a barely 40ft walnut, construction cut away many roots, managed to climb and reduce back weight, barely fit between plants that HO's wanted to spare, ladder was wrecked already, but I didn't damage it any further. HO clean up.
Just to the left is a new addition and a pool.

Nice flop!
Turned up today to pollard a damaged Lime tree (linden). The tree officer had give us permission to take it down to 6m and to leave the stub for habitat. The homeowner said the tree was struck by lightening and half the crown had blown out... Not sure about that but half the crown was definitely missing and the rest was pretty compromised. All the weight towards neighbour properties and power and utilities lines. Also had to avoid fences, sheds and a rather expensive fountain.
The guy had spec'd it to use a tracked MEWP, so we had a 30m onsite. The tree was probably 70 foot max to the tips and the machine kept cutting out due to the outreach so we had to keep resetting. That and the delivery of the machinery being 2 hours late and an hour to fix it when it broke down. Got it done and managed to get home to get the kids in time for 6pm. I cut and chucked most of the tree and then rigged some of the timber. We had a grcs onsite and used it with a re direct of another tree to rig and then to winch over a couple of sections of the timber.
There was a bit of video taken but mostly pictures.
Back on Monday to clear the timber.

I didn't do very well at lining up my bore cuts on this one
Check out the sweep on this one! Had a gas well behind it so we pulled it backwards. I'm pretty proud of the hinge since I was staring up at the crown most of the cut. I hope Jed approves
