The Official Work Pictures Thread

Dude I don't understand how you guys can have a nice truck, I smash all mine to crap....

Burnham the HH2 isn't a light weight by any stretch. I don't care about weight but want the piece of mind the extra durability that weight brings. I can't imagine making stuff as light as Petzl and all those guys. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night worrying about shit breaking and hurting people. I sleep pretty good right now:D

This is how our day started, luckily it was the only heart stopping moment of the day

Luckily we had 2 chains on this one, can't believe the second held after the first broke

Looking at it now we should have set 1 chain below that crotch

No disagreement from me, Paul. Thanks.

The wife found some ancient photo's in a sock drawer. First one is rigging a spar pole for a yarder somewhere? The second is a 220 foot Fir that had to be lowered to itself. I was in the saddle way to long on that one! Next is chunking down a Fir. The last two are other shots, right after taken a top out of a Redwood. Sorry about the quality, but some are over 35 years old and have been dragged all over hell and back! Rico, nice pics. The 4th one reminds me of something from the book High Climbers and Timber Fallers by Gerry B, fantastic book, have you had the pleasure of reading it?

Thanks cory. I posted another pic of the same tree a few weeks ago. Sure wish I had taken better care of the few old work photo's I have. I haven't read any of Gerry's book, and I really need to get them. I have had the the old Baileys poster of him topping and dropping that big Redwood for years. Thats all it took for me to be a big Gerry fan! I have a true love of the old-school stuff, and my house is full of old logging pics.

Gerry's here in da House, he'll weigh in sooner or later.

I gotta believe you would absolutely love High Climbers, you should get it sooner than later, treat yourself. Fundamentals of General Tree Work is the bible for tree guys. Guaranteed there is a nugget in there somewhere you haven't thought of and would find useful.

Beetle Bailey...5 tons. Nice old house.

JaY!!! Now that's a PIC!!!

Rico: Take some pics of yer walls brother, and then shoot up the pics of all the old logging photos. Pretty please.

Scott: Cory beat me to it, but, yeah... can't believe how those pigs pig out.

Typical resi-Fir job today... 120' hard by the house... wind blowing the wrong way as evidenced by the fuzzies on the roof, so had to put every twig on a rope. Dangit. Tedious day... only one groundie who tore it up, btw, but had to self-lower everything. Poor Joe. Zipped a few at the tippy top.

Just gotta get the wood out tomorrow...

It's a trip, people follow you out into the street when you are pulling out, bowing and thanking profusely for dispensing with their tree. "Aw gee, it weren't hardly nothin...." :)
