The Official Work Pictures Thread

Man, Cory... they might scream for it, but I happen to know that the arboretum shucked out about five grand for that 90 ton pig. What a waste.

It would be 2k here.

Im not sure how big our local crane is. But he only hits us for 95/hour or 1050/day.
A 22ton runs $200/ hour here, portal to portal.

I'd be all over $95/ hour.

Would have certainly used him on today's job at that rate...

This 90-100' bigleaf maple was alive but struggling last year... IMG_20160506_145613432[1].jpg

Paul's Tree Service installed a trucker's ratchet strap on it because of the inclusion. It superceded the 1" webbing that was the original support system. Both were big loops around the trunks 180*. At the consultation, I told the homeowner that, truth be told, there are purpose built systems for such applications, and we don't have to use trucker straps. Also, Paul's told her a tree in the back was too tall to climb, and could only be felled.:|:

The thing is dry. Wood is light.

Last year's drought will have a lot of mortality showing up this year. I think I have to upgrade to a feed wheel chipper to prepare. Keep the chuck and duck for live removals, as its HUNGRY.

Crazy way to remove trees.
Before I moved into Thompson here a few years back, there was a guy here who had a big crane with a basket hanging off the hook with a man and chainsaw inside........

Yeah, I'm pretty sure, Griff. I'll try to ask the project director if I'm out there again, but that's what someone told me. It's the "portal to portal" deal that Sean mentioned, that gets you. It was only in use for about two and a half hours. I'm pretty sure that's right for our area, because in the dead of winter, when their rates are much lower, I wanna say we had to shuck-out about 3.5 or 4 grand just for two picks with the 90 ton.

A recent 3 maple view prune and hedge job at a glacial pothole lake nearby.

I've been at the top of a 16' orchard ladder a lot lately. Too much ladder for most things. Sometimes a little bit short. When its just right, its a good labor saver. That arbor vitae hedge shows the deer pruning (browsing) down low in the bottom 4-5'. Its around 14' now. They have had a lot of trouble with getting someone willing to maintain it because of the height. Flat cross slope, but a steep property overall. Orchard ladder FTW.

I'm pretty spoiled to have this type of property for an 'office', regularly.

Only pic from today. Jason raking up before I drop the spar. Another dead ash. The nieghbor came out and added the two little maples on the bank just as we got everything takes up:X
Then went to remove and replant new bushes for a couple different customers. Very picky people but they pay well and in cash on the spot. Finished up with shearing bushes for a long time customer. Lightning and thunder now that I'm home and wanted to mow the grass

Yeah Butch, real tough.

I have to scold the guys when they hump big wood like this, in your 20's you think it's okay but by the time you hit 30 it's a no no.

Pics look okay on computer? I think I just learned how to post on a mobile, finally.
