I had done 5 trees, someone asked about the view. I hadn’t even looked.

Trunk and limb sidelean over a building to the left of the stump, two throws of the throw line, pulled in a three-strand with a base-tie for the Maasdam rope puller. 104'. 20' or 22' butt log will be chainsaw milled for my sawmill shed header (hauling tomorrow on a car trailer). Hauled (2) 16" and trim logs on my 12' trailer, with some firewood logs, due to breakage, back to my house, 1 mile away.

Only had 2.5 hours before dark, this afternoon. Chipping tomorrow.

Forgive me this is a total newb question. I was wondering about the HDPE plates. Then in a later post I saw that you were stacking them under wedges for extra lift. So what’s the deal the one HDPE shim in the kerf above the backcut?

A misplaced kerf needed to be filled for the wedges in the correctly placed backcut to have solid resistance.

We have an old Russian tradition - in December, everyone suddenly realizes that in December something needs to be cut down (cut, make a crown molding, etc.), so I work in December even on weekends.
