My problem, exactly!
The difference between Uk and US English.

I've probably mentioned this before, but I spent a lot of time in college being suspended fron English, because I insisted on speaking American.

At the final exam, they gave me a text by John Steinbeck, so I completely freaked out and went into a long discourse about having been forced to speak "Bwitish" for 3 years, then given an American text.
I mean, get your effing priorities straight, educators. Either American English is the work of the devil or it isn't. Can't have it both ways.


I did it all in American English, though, and passed with an A.
The censor probably agreed.


2 years later American english was introduced at univercity level and then at College.

Is there really that much of a difference? A few zzzz instead of ssssss, (realize realise) etc, grammatically what's the difference? (Genuinely interested btw)

I just glanced through it.
Your use of "Got to" instead of "Have to" is something I'd never considered. There's a lot of cross over I suppose, we watch American telly and vice versa.

One little tiny thing that I have noticed is "going to the hospital", thats what I say.

My father in law and aparently the rest of the commonwealth says "going to hospital".

When I was a kid, I never, ever heard the word "queue", now it is everywhere.
