The Joke/Funny Pic/Video Thread

They probably bought the land from some 95 year old who used to till it with horses.

The next video should show a sign down the hill by the road that says beware of falling tractors with the tractor flying past.

Papa Andy used to say "I'm participating in Halloween, I turned the porch light off, put the meanest dog in the front yard, locked the door, and went to bed early. That's how you celebrate that holiday, right?" The older I get, the more I agree.

I just put a sign in my yard that says we’re at the neighbors. I’m a bit out of the way for the progression of trick or treaters. Just easier to put a candy bowl at the neighbors. Also my patio fire pit and my firewood are up there right now. Trick or treat here is always on Halloween and at night. Almost every house has a small fire going. I would say half the houses have something for the adults as well. To be honest if you made it through the whole town as a parent, you could be good and drunk by the end. We end up at the neighbors and they always have a big pot of chili for the adults and hot dogs for the kids. It’s a pretty big deal here.

Here, it is far enough between houses, usually with long and dark driveways through the woods, that most folks haul their kidlets to town and hit the neighborhoods.

We have occasionally had children of the appropriate age live nearby, and it always has been sort of a planned event for them to stop by our place on the way to the more populous places. The parents visit with us ahead of time, or we ask them if they want to do so.

But I expect that in the more than 45 years we've lived here, less than a dozen kids have made it to our door :).

We’ve had about 60 so far - from young enough they needed help up and down the front steps to some we know are 16/17 - “as long as they have a costume on they get candy” is our rule.
A few years ago the doorbell rang late, and there stood four college-aged students without costumes. But one whipped a ukelele out from behind his back and they sang two songs. They were international students, and as the night was over and since we did not expect any more trick or treaters we gave them the rest of our bowl of candy.

Been here since 2015. My first Halloween I bought a couple decorations including a pumpkin with a motion sensor along with a couple bags of candy. Didn't have a single trick-or-treater. Haven't bothered with it since.
