As time passes whether or not we feel any war is just or appropriate the fundamental concept of what our Veterans have done becomes clearer...they stepped forward and wrote a blank check for any value up to, and including, their life, for the sake of others.

"Those others" include you, me and people from far away whom they don't even know.

If nothing else, we should at least take a precious few moments to remember their sacrifices if not to be grateful. And to remember that they are some of the very few in this world who are willing to give everything they have for the sake of someone else.

I, for one, shall be eternally grateful to ALL veterans.

Each year I post this link to http://www.rfwood.com/Pittance.wmv . It is a heartfelt song and it always gives me reason to pause.

Watch it or not, the choice is yours, but, as I steal a phrase from a great arbo in Norf Kakkalaki, it will change your life.

I have also discovered another video that again challenges us to stop and remember. http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http:%...yer&h=a8afb

Vets, Thank You for your service and Sacrifice. May a time come when we no longer have to ask folks to step into harms way. Until then, I, for one, am thankful that there are people like you willing to step into the gap.
