Squirrel stuck in chimney

I don't know about CA. Not true most places, though a few communities have covenants banning shake or sawn shingle roofing.

I don't think the issue is that it's illegal, but that it's harder to find a company that will insure, and for those that will, it's more expensive.

Try a thatched roof on for size:D

We've had whole villages go "poof" as the fire jumped from one roof to the other.

Lots of old villages here have a TOTAL ban on fireworks:lol:

:lol: That made have to clean my screen.

No more shake shingles in CA as far as I know in new construction. Some homes still have them. My parents finally redid their roof last year or so with asphalt but had shingle before. And a fire suppression system on the roof. Seems to me the plumbing company my dad and I worked for used to make good money putting sprinklers on shingled roofs on the hills around the valley and LA.
A lot of people up here are using metal roofing now.
