Makes you want a chain on every trunk

Especially hard-leaners being chunked back, removing so much weight that was bending the trunk, one must avoid the Circle Of Death by using bridge Ds or bridge connection instead of hip D, good cuts, cuts just above forks, and sometimes binding.


A chain loop with a grab-hook, tightened with 1-2 wedges can work better than a binder and is lighter. No issue with the shape of the tree not working with a binder.

I had a small maple split like that, and had a hickory log split after it was felled.
