Is it 490$ per person? That would be like a 100$ per person a day. I know I don't eat that much, but then I don't eat 9.$ hotdogs! Dinner is what is going to kill ya money wise, and there are not many off site options that I know of.

Like I said, ask your driver to stop on the way from the airport to the hotel for snacks and beer. We saw a bunch of people taking coolers to the beach and the pool. There is a liquor store on Paradise Island, just off Atlantis's property, but if you stop before you get on that Island, it will be worth your while.
I dunno what you are looking to experience there, I have done it a dozen different ways. We have stayed off site of Atlantis and walked over to gamble at night and it was fun. We've stayed at Cable Beach where the beach was lovely but the casino was a joke. Of course the time we splurged and stayed at Atlantis, that was the best. The best beach, the most fun to be had and the casino is the only one worth playing at.
The only one thing we do, everytime we go, is have Conch with George under the bridge.

Thi gets us a nicer room, access to the "Club" on the top floor, discounted drinks up there, free breakfast, free Hors Dourves throughout the day, free drinks from 5-7, and Sushi and other fingr foods from 5- closing.

I MAY ask them to stop at the store for us.

Yes, you can drink the water, no problem. We did the "club" thing in Vegas once and enjoyed it. That was where I saw the guy with the nappy hat from ZZ Top, (Billy Gibbons) and racing icon John Force was on that floor as well. So, you might see a celeb!
There are Atlantis buse's that take you from one property to another, like the one that will take you to the dolphins, that you can ride over to the golf course and see it. That little ride was interesting because the driver will, (if you ask) will give you a little history of the houses there. Some bond movie was filmed there and on Nassau proper. We have a guy that works for us that grew up in Nassau and remembers when nothing was on Paridise Island.

A friend of mine, who is a lot older than me, tells stories of the way the Keys used to be.

I sometimes jokingly call him Jimmy Buffett cuz he spends so much time in the carribbean. He bought some property on St. Croix last year, hope he gets a house built soon!

Ha, I told my daughter if we go this year it would probably be for the fourth, just for the weekend! Dunno though, it is a lot of dough for a couple of days. She said she can't justify it when we can cruise over there, out of Miami, for 300$ per person on Carnival or Royal Caribbean.

The meal plans they are offering now are the ones we used last year. The Waters Edge had a killer buffet with all you could eat Stone Crab and Florida Lobster.

Not yet, still thinking about it. I am going to the Abaco's next week, so I am focused on that. I will have to get back and work up to be ready to get off this island again, then I will prolly book. It is just so expensive, even for the weekend. Worth it, but expensive.

My wife is pregnant with twins, we found out about a month ago. No vacation. We have a vegas trip all planned for September thats a MAYBE!
