Does anyone know where the idea of the RopeWrench came from? Did Kevin intuit that himself, or was it adapted from another discipline? I was watching some old videos in the 'new gear' thread, and it occurred to me that putting a crimp in the rope to relieve tension on the hitch isn't an idea I'd likely have come up with on my own. Simple and clever. A really elegant design.

Kevin’s idea and invention. He explained a lot of it to me while we were on a flight together years ago. This was when the rope runner pro was still a concept. Too bad I had a pretty healthy bias going from being stuck in the airport bar for two hours between flights. I forget the timeline

Somewhere here at the House is a convo he had re his first real world use of a RW on storm damage in Tejas. Definetly fascinating stuff. It allowed him to go from tree to tree to tree without grounding in between which was a big plus as he was being paid by the tree while storm chasing, iirc.
