That was my guess, because it looks like school grounds. With the NCAA now, the alumni can't get away anymore with slipping financial favors to the quarterback, so now they reward a successful season with a new sports ground, etc.

Some people will remember when there were nice trees there, at least for awhile.

Around here you'd have needed one person full time just for public relations. I bet that's part of why the stumps were done immediately too. Seems like whatever they're doing there they would be having equipment in big enough to have popped and loaded those stumps. Whenever we do park or city removals the stumps got to go right away. Out of sight out of mind. No stump no complaints.
