I think things have changed .

Back in the day if you met the prerequisites you could get the badge .For example I raised rabbits as a 4H project ,that counted .We went on a 50 mile canoe trip ,another badge .Attended an NRA hunter safety course good for marksmenship etc etc . Couldn't hardly hit lake Erie from a row boat ,still got one for archery . Went on so many campouts in all kinds of weather ,good for camping like the Klondike derby at 5 below zero in Jan .

Oh ,it was neat I enjoyed every minute of it and will remember it forever .:D
 
I was in the woodcraft rangers...still am, in a manner of speaking. Then I joined the scouts for awhile. Went to a great scout camp on Catalina island for two weeks...lots of wild pigs running around. I wanted to be in the scout's secret "order of the arrow" elite, but never got that far before going to the beach became my main ambition. I didn't care for the scoutmaster very much.
