CMI came out with thier new 1" block. Going to be beating it it down the next few weeks. See how it does. I like the simple makeup. Not a clean as the DMM, but made here in the USA, and not too steep in price. IMG_0130.jpg
 
I miss the old Hobbs blocks. Not that I take down anything worthy of that size gear these days.


I wonder why they don't round off their edges on their blocks?
 
Darin, probably to help protect the rope from rubbing on whatever the block is secured to. They don't always stay perfectly oriented.
 
Whoa that's big!

Not often to I even pull out the 5/8" blocks with 1/2" stable braid. Can't remember last time I used the 5/8" rope!:lol:
 
Anyone know the sheave size? If it's like the smaller one that looks just like it, the sheave isn't big enough to fully utilize its strength, based on bend radius theory.
