Live and learn, I guess. Earl Scheib has always been a cheap but often not a very good paint job place. Painting ANY car for a certain inexpensive amount used to be their slogan when I was a kid. Every once-in-awhile they would raise it ten bucks or so. People would joke about getting an...

Some of the coolest people I have ever met were Japanese Americans. They took the best from both worlds and were tough mofos. That generation is disappearing, sadly.

The 4 wheel drive low gear is pretty low. I can see why a parks service would use them. They can get in and out of trouble. I've been in a few where the drivers tend to be trail blazing maniacs. :O

The newer models have a pretty good amount of extra space now, and some have an area behind the driver for additional storage, and a slim window there. It cuts into the bed length, however. Leg room, not so much, a real tall guy might feel cramped. The real old ones are tiny, but cute.

Reading on the web says different things about the kei trucks in the US. One site is adamant about not street legal. Another says it depends on the state, as in kevin's post, but federal regulations don't look kindly on them. Another site says that all that get imported into the US have a...

The weight carrying capacity is officially about 900 pounds, not sure if that includes the driver as well. Bed size is 6' 5" long x 4' 5" wide, and mileage is 40-50 mpg. Real good for tooting around to local jobs, if the bed size and weight capacity suits.

Mine is a five speed plus R, but the automatics are pretty nice if you don't mind the decreased mileage. The home center here has two that they loan out for free to take home your purchases, maximum one hour usage. I discovered that you can do a lot of various errands in an hour requiring a...

Stephen, I don't think the kai trucks are street legal in the states, people use them on ranches and golf courses and the like. I'm not sure what the restriction is based upon, though they are a pretty practical vehicle in some respects. There are a few importers in the states and Australia, I...

If you think Butch's friend's one is bad! You guys with your big powerful trucks, please don't laugh at mine! I just purchased one of these, three years old with only 7000 miles on it. I got a pretty good deal, the previous owner died (not in the truck) and knowing a used car place...

I guess I did over interpret what you said, Nick. Googling around a bit about foreign steel in cars, I did run across some sites where folks were adamant about only buying US made goods, and they do go to some length to make sure that everything inherent in a purchase is indeed from the good...

I must have my head in the sand. I can't fathom people not wanting to hire someone because they don't pull up in a domestic truck. That just makes no sense to me at all. I believe that there is surely some foreign steel used by American car manufacturers, both in the cars and in the machines...

I'm not big on nationalism loyalty to my country of birth that issues my passport, nor to the flag where I currently reside. I might have some small sense of allegiance when it comes to sports competitions for some reason, but other than that not much. Living in different countries lets me see...
