The Official Work Pictures Thread

I hate working for less. But I hate not working at all even more. 'Half a loaf is better than no loaf'

Early season pricing sucks. I'm trying to coach myself not to do it. Easier said then done. I long to taste a packed schedule again but have to remind myself how bitter it feels to be busy yet making very little money.

Ive got 9 out of 18 western bark beatle pondos done so far

Self log loader wants them cut to 38' 10"...I think there going on shipping containers to China :|:

Cory, what do you think of as a benefit of ddrt? How often do you curse friction when climbing?

Additionally, half as much rope to tend and restack into a rope bag on a saddle.

Choke or clove hitch your rope anywhere on the tree.

3:1 to return from limb walks, with just one biner (some drag), or a biner pulley, or a revolver.

Biggest pile I've made in one place. There was another, much smaller, pile on site at this home site clearing job.

Wednesday, I'll have a 10k rubber track excavator to forward logs for the mill. Shitty access road means not driving Dan's kboom dump truck down to the logs decked with my Boxer.

It's Benn The Tree Surgeon. It's official and won't be reversed.

Some people used to call him Ben the Bastard. Thankfully he always had a good sense of humour.

Another fine job Ben. Solid. We'll have to get on skype one of these days.

Whoa now. The Bastard has a nice ring to it. Benn? Benn please tell us more.

It was only a matter of time before Reg brought it up, ha. I worked briefly for Brian the Bastard, who was an old retired copper, used to do treework for release. Anyway, he used to sing along to Barry White on the radio, really badly, all the time, made me cringe, and he also liked to do things totally backwards, like not parking his firewood next to a pile of wood, but 100 feet away, then carry by hand each piece. He was mental. He also liked rigging down tiny bits of wood just for the hell of it, IN FIELDS! Ha whatever. So I think thats where it came from. Im sure Reg will have more juicy info lol

Clash of personalities for sure. Two people at completely different stages of their lives. I thought I was doing a good thing bringing them together, lol. Match made in hell.

Reg, maybe you should get a bit more experience in this game before starting your own business:big-laughing-at:
Good luck with it anyway. You won't regret it.

Today....four firs to strip and fell, nothing too tricky, 20 odd cube of chip, ie 4 truck loads, I per tree, there's some material on firs, branch after branch after branch. Lay the butts on the floor, timber lorry to collect.

The power broom made its debut, it's going to save a lot of pain at the end of the day.

Two groundies in the pics not me btw.

Just a couple from my job today. Zip line really works nice for white pine. I could've just stripped it out but those limbs shatter no matter how they land, except on the zip line. We did two of those sappy bastards today.
