Tight one from yesterday.

Had to wait out a few as this rolled past with the typical wind gusts, I came close to getting down but kept on. Wish the wife could have snapped some shots but I kept her to busy on the POW.

Here's a few from today, decent oak, roped most down for a couple of reasons.
1: easier for the groundies.
2: didn't want to smash the Tarmac to pieces.
Missed the metal for a change (see purple staining)
Client of course believes he will make his fortune selling the butt, I didn't want to ring it up so I didn't disabuse him of the idea.

Yep, love those action shots Max.
That pine was big but strait forward. There was an optical illusion that made the face look like it was gunned way left but we slapped the log tapes in the corners and it was dead on. Got a nasty Shasta fir to pull and jack tomorrow, little nervous about that one

It's the bar that sits on the saw all the time, I hadn't used it for a couple of months so I thought I'd give it an outing.

About to pop the top into the woods. Dead doug-fir. Homeowner (forester) figured it would be like standing drying firewood if he waited until it was fully dead. Ohhhh, the base is rotten. Ohhh. Good sized fir next to it. Had some pouch fungus-sap rot. An old break mid-stem that grew into a single leader, with a jog in it.

climbing adjacent (fading, likely root disease in area) doug-fir for high TIP and to set a rigging line, so I didn't have to climb as high. Lots of healthy non-susceptible species, but dead and fading DF.

Piled up limbs to stand on, looking for higher wood up high. I haven't put my springboard back together, or I would have used it on the good wood side rather than this sh^%ty contraption. I could have build a more stable platform, but didn't. My aim was off a bit, and a took off a good sized limb at the trunk of a big forest maple, damaging the trunk. Can't win them all. Got to remember to bolt the springboard back together. Will just found the shoe/ cleat.

Hypoxylon decayed maple. The big side was fully dead, near the septic field, and edge of lawn/ beginning of forest/ landscape planting. Put on ground only. A good day for long spurs...and you rarely hear me say that.

Homeowner liked tall wildlife snag stumps. Wearing a 36" there.

Tomorrow, kill two small ones, plant two apple trees. I can count the number of trees I've planted, for hire, on both hands, maybe one.
