they are still not sure about the truck. The out riggers are hashed and the boom is hooped, but the truck may yet save out.

Its NOT their crane that has issues.
A 19 year old just almost died there, recently.
They will have more incidents.
Accidents waiting to happen.

A good question.
Requires management to decide to implement it, and hold people accountable.
Doesn't seem like a difficult thing to figure, just hard to get someone in charge to change.

😂Beat over this fairly hard back leaning cottonwood into the house (between 130’ and 140’) off a three double stacks, no rope. Was to lazy to go up there. Pouring sweat. Probably the last time I ever do this. I’m beginning to see the irresponsibility factor in it. Plus I just really hope we are done losing huge stuff over on houses for a little while. I’m almost just getting too old.

Working in a small backyard by the Long Island Sound on a spruce that is too big for the property. I thought the small craft wind advisory was not applicable to climbers. I was wrong. Going back there tomorrow to finish up if the wind dies down.

🤠 Loving Sean’s idea about the cowboy/maverick mindset. The interesting thing is that the crane crew are a much different sort. I am just a goofball who likes to send it like Larry Enticer. But like both Seans... definitely don’t wanna see anyone get hurt.

Do you climb with an axe/hatchet all the time Jed? I have a little boy scout hatchet I've taken up to beat wedges, and I've thought about making it a permanent addition to my saddle, but I don't know if it would earn it's weight penalty.

Nice top Jed.
Forgot a before picture, but got one at 8:58, when I came down to clean up the bigger/lower limbs. (Got started at 8:00). Second pic was at 4:00 PM, as we were leaving. Eight hours, start to finish. Pic is deceiving. Tree is just over 90’ tall, about 42” across the stump. One big load hauled off, then squeezed the rest in front of the Gehl for the drive home.
