This was day 2, 5 hours climbing yesterday, I was ready to fall this by 1130 today. Thats the biggest chunk of wood ive seen on a tree, 5 big leaders sprouted off it. The only damage was the fence panel, which I stuck back on
Still going with Rob. Typical treewisemen job. Yeh the tree was pretty frigged, had been heavy reduced years back, which left alot of holes. After I cut my anchor point off, it was 50 % hollow Not sure how were gonna cut that knuckle up, it has an old treehouse, dirt and metal riddled.
Damn silver maples. Someone fifty or sixty years ago decided they were great trees. Wish I could go back and slap them upside the head. That was a big ugly for sure Benn
Sometimes using tapatalk yes, but sometimes I just copy off facebook uploads, it makes the pics less Kilobytes... I wish there was a multi upload direct on here...?
The lump would make a great table/bar for 5 people
Benn we did an oak on Monday that the trunk was bigger than that by far!! Luckily as it had grown into a garage wall and had a fence built around it I convinced them to leave the bottom 15' !!
Shoulda got pictures but we were under the gun as the power co. gave us from 8-30 to 3-30 to get it done....... I hate having a deadline on a huge ass tree with 9 cables in it!!
I knew I'd get called on that one. I've had a wee bit to drink tonight. Kindly disregard any more hyperbole from my quarter for at least three more hours.
