Worked on this beast most of the week. I called the boss when I got there and told him the estimate was FUBAR and to clear out my week. The pics don’t show the true path of the wires. Also forgot to get a pic when we showed up. Almost two days of the dreaded cut and throw method till we had enough height to rig efficiently. Even then it was still small. To top it off it rained for three days. Finished the spar and clean up today. Company lost its ass on this job.
In a way it’s good to hear that others make the same mistakes.

Yesterday's little job. 20ft or so of cracked trunk. Applied three big ratchet straps, took a problematic limb off, removed the broken codom, and set a line. Debated bore cutting, decided against it, in favor of pouring the coals and bugging out. Client cleanup(ish), safetied the tree and bucked what the homeowner's saw couldn't handle. Not a bad Saturday at all. IMG_20250927_085213494_HDR.jpg IMG_20250927_085148465_HDR.jpg IMG_20250927_085137961_HDR.jpg IMG_20250927_100229968_HDR.jpg IMG_20250927_100223646_HDR.jpg

Nasty tree, full of rather aggressive, smelly ants. At least I remembered to take pictures.

I don't know. I might stake a claim and turn it into a man cave. Build a tiny house over the hole and have a half mile of basement. Or a line of tiny houses, connected underground could be fun.

There are many people here that incorporate “their” lava tube.
The longest one traveled is 40 miles. I think Goes volcano to HPP.

Think Cory said AI…. Nah it’s real. Gnarly walking cross the field.
