I love the one with the palm's mess in the pool. I laugh each time I remember it.

Not so with the massive barberchair / trunk crumbling. Scary.

This is from an interview with the wingsuiter in hospital after the crash, I think us tree folks will find it amazing.

François Gouy of PGHM was the guy who pulled you out of the forest. He’s a former wingsuit basejumper, and a few of us actually had dinner with him a few days before your crash. He gave us your crash coordinates, so Brandon Russell and I went to the scene looking for your GoPro. Dude, there was blood, tree carnage and debris everywhere. You flew through an 8” diameter tree trunk and snapped the top 20’ completely off. Your debris trail was almost 300’ long. How on earth do you explain being alive, let alone essentially unscathed?

Whoa nobody dug that wing suit vid? One of the most beautiful and insane vids Ive seen.
 
Cory I think they are cool but I also don't really "get it". I love releasing endorphins and adrenaline as much as the next man but not at the expense of face planting a tree or a boulder. There's easier ways to get the job done imo. For me personally its hard to relate to the pilot view point/footage because I can never see myself up and doing it.
 
Chris, I can appreciate that. I liked it because when he first launched, the go pro picture of the cliffs and mountains was just spectacular. Then, as he flew high and long, the notion of doing that crazy chit was pretty amazing, though I sure as heck will never do it. Even though a lot of folks die doing it, a lot of others are pretty heavily into the science of it more than the lunacy of it, so that makes it interesting to me too.

The fact that he crashed held no appeal to me, just the scenery of his flight. That he snapped off an approx 6''X 20' spruce top during the crash, and lived, that is pretty insane.
 
It kind of looked impossible to make, to keep sufficient altitude over the distance. Wonder if anyone had done that flight before successfully.
 
Jay, I think it is kind of a standard route. Apparently he didnt have adequate experience and knowledge to pull it off. There's an interview on it in that website I posted on the Cool Websites thread.
 
Guys that do that surfing have truly massive balls and skill.
 
Getting hit by the board is a major hazard, it happens.
