no one in my county has the $ to spray
ive heard of it does it stop it altogether ?

Spaying the bottom six to ten feet helps "prevent " the uptake of the disease through the trunk. Only a preventative measure as far as i know. Slows down an infected trees spread but if its a SOD tree it's dead. No tree we've sprayed has had a call back of SOD.

All the leaves are brown,

and the trees are dead.

I looked for a cure

But there's none, they said...(sorry John and Michie, who got pretty itchy)

O, links? google lee klinger (did native americans grind up oyster shells and apply the paste to oaks, to boost their calcium uptake and...?) and ralph zingaro (who was sued by the state for a pile because he promoted phosphite as a fungicide, and now...phosphite is listed by the state as a fungicide), or jsut ask them...

not to derail with dead past issues--the future is all, as Zarathustra sprach.

I use phosphite on phytophthora here on the right coast, where red oaks are oozing, and dying--or drying!

yeah the poor fella that was at the tcia trade show in long beach was gettin laughed at for suggesting his organic calcium treatment as effective, all the chemical folks were having a go at him,
i dont treat it ,unfortunately
i am the one that kills em all and
lets the landing chaser sort em out
one of my fallers (tony)nicknames is sudden oak death
him and his 044

I know Ralph. He was sued because the 'researchers' wanted the grant money. They got the money all right.

IMO, those 'researchers' should return that grant money.

I'm gonna try out this product called:
Phospho-jet on a coastal live oak, and a madrone. The madrone has madrone canker but the oak will be a preventative for SOD.

Anyone have any experience with this product?

no but it looks promising. material costs more but a little would go a longer way methinks.

you use arborjet on other diseases frans?

This will be my first go around with it. Guy who works with me has applied it to a Tan Oak for a few years. This tree is surrounded by SOD, in a deep wet canyon, but the tree is free of it. It looks funny because it is the only green Tan Oak in the area. Surrounded by dead trees it is the only nice green tree.
