Howdy, folks. Just dropped in to say hi, after I googled the Reg Coates climbing device. Hope to see it on the market soon. Been climbing on a rrp for a while, and looking for the next best thing. I really miss my uni with the stainless inserts (installed by Morgan Thompson, as a trial run), the lower L arm mod by Dave Mcneil, and the drum by Richard Mumford...so far my favorite mechanical device. I agree with Sean about the wide straps for spurs. I was starting to have problems with my achilles tendon from the narrow ones. I recently upgraded from my bucklites, with the big buck pads, and wide lower velcro straps, to a pair of carbon fiber geckos. so far the lower strap on those, seems fine...kinda like the buckle, but the upper pad has yet to impress me for comfort, but it sure is light. Anyhow, later folks...I will try to keep on here more often.
Sounds like Reg is coming out with an ascend/descend device
