So Singing Rock has made rock climbing gear for ever. I knew they had a line of basic work saddles but it looks likes they have really expanded their arborist line.

A whole slew of innovative rescue products: http://www.singingrock.com/tractel

A whole slew of eye slings, lanyards, and the like

Even tree specific harnesses http://www.singingrock.com/working-and-rescue-harnesses#working-and-rescue-positioning

The Singing Rock products I have used have always been really high quality, it will be exciting to see how the arborist stuff is received.

But five Wraptors can lift 1500lbs almost 750kg! Plus you get almost 1000 feet of rope with them! :)

Anyway the saddle look okay, and pretty inexpensive.

Actually, that does appear to be the same concept but it looks a bit over designed. However, IF (big if) they did copy mine ... COOL, more power to them. I talked to Reg at the show, Thursday. He asked if I was making the RopeJack. I told him hell no - I'm not interested in making and selling stuff. I added, if he wanted to make something like it, go right ahead.

I understand, there's an Ausie company making a foot loop exactly like my Whoopie-Footloop. If so, COOL, even flattering ... but I'm RETIRED ... done with business stuff! It'll be great, if I never have to work with another patent attorney. All my tree work ... or any work, is strictly volunteer work for the community. Recently someone in France asked if I minded if he translated one of my concepts into other languages ... LOL, "of course not" was my reply.

If anyone wants to use anything I share ... have at it ... it's on them.
As my Mom used to tell us: "If you break your leg, don't come running to me!"

Wraptor saved my butt the last few weeks with my injuries. Not like I have a back up climber to get the jobs done. Ascending a tree was not in the works with a pinched nerve. Wraptor did not care how many times I have to go up to get the job done. Just shoot in the next line to the work position. Thing friggen rocks and pays the bills man!

Love it, Jack...same place I'm at, these days. Being retired rocks :D.

I have offered a bunch of people plans on how to make the APTA, Adam asked me if I minded that he make one of his own. I responded 'who am I to tell you what to do on your own time?'

These days I seriously wonder the worth of patenting anything related to what we do. So many others are thinking and creating innovations simultaneously while we think of them. And then someone comes out with a better gadget right after we introduce our new thingy that is going to change everything.

Now Paul's HH comes in at possibly being a better SRT work innovation for arborists than the RW. Having never tried either personally I'm not qualified to say, but that is the way it looks to me.

How it all pans out we'll see.

My first harness was the Singing Rock Sit Worker-1 harness. Got me started climbing in trees. It is not comfortable hanging in for long periods of time. Now, it collects dust on the shelf.

I'll add that the Singing Tree harness is well-constructed. It looks like the harness would wear very well. For only $86, it will be good for use either as a compact spare or for learning in. Just a bit too 'minimalist' of a harness to be worn all the time.
