Shackles?

Sure. Make a reasonable donation to the treehouse fund including $5 for shipping. As soon as I get confirmation from the boss man, I'll ship it.

When splicing a hitch cord to the D, you have 2 options.

Easiest is go with a standard prusik knot. If you can't be happy with that, you will have to do some fussing with the ropes. You can't splice the thing on and then expect to be able to turn that into a VT or martín or something like that. You might have to form the hitch, keep it loosely tied, then splice it with the hitch tied.

Sounds crazy because it is. But when it works, it's pretty awesome.

You might wanna play with it and see what hitches you CAN make. Last time I did it it was for someone else who wanted a VT, so that's all I tried. There may be some newer hitch that is easy to form when both ends are captured.

I figured I could tie the hitch around a small piece of 3/8" PVC pipe, splice it on the ring, then push the pipe out with the lanyard. I will play with it.

Could splice one eye on permanently and the second could be a tight eye on a small quicklink.
