Just more junk saws

Just finished putting this one together from a box of pieces after it lost a battle to a tree about 4-5 years ago and was put on the shelf with gas still in it .
The guy who bought it new in 1994 said he was only on it being used for about the 4th time when the mishap happen, homeowner. He had the crankcase welded and it didn't hold where the AV mount was.
I took 2 days to redneck fix the broken mount area and she is up and running. Running fat needing a carb kit.

Havent touched that chain, factory sharp stihl 3/8 RS and 7 tooth rim. Just soft yellow poplar log cut a year ago.

I have to admit, I bought a 338 Poulan years ago. It wasn't a terrible saw, but had issues with snapping allen screws that held the front handle on. It sure wasn't a Stihl.

My bud has one marked Pro, I forget the model, but the oiler quit. I rebuilt the carb for him and it runs pretty good. My stepson has a non pro and his oiler quit also. My Husky 45 needs another oil pump. It has been pounded for 14 years though. I am going to upgrade to a 346 and semi-retire the 45.

Why would someone waste their time on the magnesium crankcase poulans you ask . I got a poulan 3750 here that cuts right with the beloved 262xp for half the price. You just got to know which ones to go after .


Just watch this yellow poulan 415 with the 475 p+c put on it at Webster this year in the 5ci class.
About a 1:05 into the video, only yellow saw and sawer on right.
I was running at about the 2:09 mark with my fat ass back to cam in green chaps.

I've never had a Poulan chainsaw. I did have a stringtrimmer that didn't last very long. Knock yourself out, looks like it cuts pretty good.

Just have to share a funny firewood cutting story from the other day.

You should have seen the poor guys face and his son was bragging about their stihls. ms290 and ms390. What was sad was the little partner 500 out cut them with 20" bar and 3/8 buried in hardwoods.
Then the father said aint no poulans going to out cut my big stihl them poulans are pure junk. Well I showed up with 2 junk poulans, 3750 60cc 415 65cc. Needless to say he backed out of his bet of a $100, when I told him if you could not out cut the 49cc partner you dont even want to try this.

I just think dudes sharp chain (per him) and the bar smoking had something to do with his problems.

Getting closer . Soaked the carb while waiting on the carb kit. Both diaphragms didnt seem to bad, so I threw them in again to test, did rip one gasket, but seems ok.

Same piece of soft poplar. Redneck fix to the case held slamming it into the wood.

Little Christmas gift to myself today. Found a new to me Poulan model I never even heard of and can only find info in a IPL.

Had to talk to a guy in TX to find out about it to see if I even wanted to drive and check it out or not.

It's a 2100. Basically the poulan 2000 33cc top handle made into a rear handle saw from what I can tell so far. Has coil spring AV which sold me on checking it out .

This saw is a Jonsered design. The saws are really great IMO.
I have a Partner 710, same family of saws and it is a beast to go...
