On that note, I got a funny e-mail from my apprentice yesterday.
He wrote that he felt, he wasn't given the right amount of gear for the kinda job we expected him to do.
To prove it, he sent a picture of a fellow student at the forestry school.
I laughed so hard, my wife came running down from upstairs, to see what was going on.

From the left: Stihl tool set, log carrier, a single hook used for loading pulpwood on trucks about 30 years ago, when it was cut to 1 meter, and never seen since ( I used one when I first started pulp logging in 76), a first aid kit that could supply a whole African village and a logger's tape.
He forgot the diamerter measuring tool.
Look at me everybody, I'm a real logger!
Martin, my apprentice, on the other hand has been given top of the line logging clothing: Stihl stretch air pants, Meindl Air revolution boots, a shitload of company t-shirts and plaid logger shirts from bailey's. All his pse is top of the line and he has 3 saws: Stihl 260, 441 and 660. Same stuff that Richard and I use and wear.
The pants are $300 here and the boots the same, but we don't skimp on clothes for apprentices.
If you want to get some use out of people, spend the money to equip them right!

On topic of the t-shirts. Any recommended printing companies? My shirts seem to last longer then the logos on them. Then they just look crappy.
