Many of the old fallers I knew that worked during the transition to chainsaws told me they wouldn't give up the axe and crosscuts because they were just lighter and easier to pack in the woods. Eventually they changed over.

Very few of those guys left that run them saws for living.

Larry Stiener has one of those things . We took turns running it at a GTG once .That thing sounded like a boat motor . I think it had like a 9/16 or 3/4 inch chain on it . Whatever it was it tossed some big old chips .

There was one on ebay here a few weeks ago, went for about $1100 I think. Can't find it, I thought I kept it.

I can see why they stuck with crosscuts & axes.

I think this a KB6 missing some parts, but still.. Nice saws!

Jerry, the bar can be turned to run horizontal or vertical. See the pic showing the bar/powerhead union...it can turn there.
