Yes, the Chinese still feel that they have a right to dislike the Japanese, based on war atrocities, and when the Japanese prime mister goes and visits the shrine here for the soldiers killed during the conflict, they have a fit in China. Still, the lure of brand name luxury items is bringing the new rich over here in droves. Bygones be bygones at the high end boutiques in Tokyo.

I don't know that there is much in the way of resentment by the Japanese towards the Chinese, as a rule, except for the recent bad behavior thing. A great deal, if not most ancient Japanese culture came from China. Even so, each country's respective customs are more different than you might expect.
 
Germs or not with epidemic type stuff the body either builds an antibody or you die. Simple as that .

Take for example the native peoples of Alaska . In the early days of the conquest of Europian sealers those poor folks would croak just getting a common cold .
