Snapped off both the top fairleads on my GRCS.
Storm damage Sugar Maple last week finished em off.
In terms of cycles to failure the fairleads have seen huge huge loads several times a year and moderate loads couple times a month.
About 10 yrs of bending and rebending back to original.
ANy one customize these fairleads?
Looking to do something for midlineability and roller.
Thanks in advance for sharing!

Take it easy on the fairleads! All you have to do is set a block at some point above GRCS to direct the line as straight as possible.

I try my best with redirects. Most times set a block with a stilson hitch.
They tend to stretch out and then there goes the fairlead.
I like to keep the Goods on another tree to keep my guys out from under the removal tree and
to add more rope to system so there is always angles and redirects to work with.
I have been using the Proknot for small loads with good success because it sucks up
the slack easily.

Thanks that looks viable:) Over sized chain roller type fairlead and a hitchpin. sure, why not?
To finish up the other two storm hangers I added my Masdaam rope pllr. Wrapped on the tree
and rigging biner to grab the rig line, it worked ok until I bent the handle:whine:

I read somewhere that someone was using an x rigging ring above theirs. Sounds like it may work well instead of a block or pulley

Had to pull a large uprooted Locust away from a house and used as my
redirect a 2" ratchet strap with the tail hook to the ratchet body and then
the ratchet hook as the redirect to the goods worked fine until it tore the cover
offf the rope.
It was a tough pull even with the rope pullr in tandem.
All went well at the end.

This is a fairlead. Those things on the GRCS are more just rope guides.
