Has anyone done this? Chisel or knife? How long for compartmentalization? Can/will the bark grow back over the wound (99% sure it cant) ?

Too many questions?

I've done many. Usually after a lightning strike but also from car, lawn mower, or construction damage. Chisel, knife, or chainsaw, depending on the type of tree, bark thickness, and extent of damage. Compartmentalization depends on species and overall health of the tree. Bark will grow back, again depending on species, vigor, and extent of damage.

Do you apply hydrogen peroxide and or copper solution? I saw a guy do that and then put a thin coat of wax
