    I've heard of one brand new one that killed a line clearance guy around here. It can happen.

    There's always the risk. Brand new, something could have been made wrong or not checked properly and fail, too old and it can of course fail, but partially used could have been abused too, and so could fail.

    Mechanical. From what i remember the upper boom cylinder went, boom swung down hard. I'll ask my buddy, he was the one that told me.

    I'd think they would use some sort of flow regulators (squeeze points) to prevent fast swings if ever the hydros leak
