    No, you'll have to tell the apprentice to get the ropepuller out of the truck:D I use that trick ( The wedges first one, not the apprentice one) once in a while. It has it's place in the toolbox for sure.

    I have nothing to add to what Burnham posted. Sean, I use that " wedge dial" tecnique with setting a wedge by it's very tip, so it'll show movement, when tyhe situation calls for it. I can't really see it's value in an arborist setting, but when felling in the woods on a windy day, it can tell...
