Nope, I'm lazy when it comes to stumping. We'll do the small ones in gardens, anything bigger, we let those other guys at. As long as I got plenty of work, I'll rather do almost anything else than grind stumps.

That is how we do it. Anything up to 1½ foot diameter, we'll do ourself, bigger than that we sub it out to a company that has a 138 HP Vermeer grinder. Neither of us enjoy hanging on the Bandit all day, chewing away at a big stump.

For that price, I wouldn't even grind that stump. Unless it was part of a package deal with a lot of other stumps. You'd do better to find some one to subcontract stumping for you.

As for the warranty on Stihl products, you get 2 years here, except on the pro saws, where it is one.They have to comply with local regulations. Since I could wear a limbing saw out in a year in my pulping days, no wonder they don't give a 2 year warranty on them. A good dealer is worth more...

Jose, I think most of us have been in that situation. Smarts like hell, but it is one of the hazards of this job. Just be thankful that you didn't hit a nest while up in a tree. That is a BAD situation.
