I had a great trip To the Alps. It was raining at the campground when we arrived, it is at 1441 meter, further up it was snow. My wife called and said all passes over 2000 meters were closed...........bummer. Next morning around 10 I saw 2 bikes coming out of Furka pass, ran out on the road...

Sure, but not in Schweiz. There is, however a nice, cheap camp ground in the village of Andermatt. Andermatt lies like the hub of an old vagon wheel, with 10 major passes as the spokes in the wheel. From there one can drive Grimsel, Furka, Susten, Nufenen, Bernadino, Sct Gotthard, Val Tremola...

I had the bike out for the first time this year today. Had to go get a pair of leather gloves for the apprentice and since it was sunny and 40 degrees Fahrenheit, I figured, why not. Nothing like the first ride of the year. :)
