Many of y'all are missing the point. The question is, what sort of face and back cut provides the best chance of getting the hinge to function on dead wood fiber. The fact that you don't need to worry as much about maximizing that function on some species near as much as others in irrelevant...

Yup. Including the german cut full width might be a good idea.
