I guess the next question is: does the lift system work for people (OVERALL). when compared to a bucket truck? In other words is it “cost effective” when compared to a bucket truck? With all the additional running around of equipment.

Wow, thanks so much for the quick “and detailed” reply! Very much appreciated! The answers tell me my question did make sense because that’s exactly the problem I’m trying to figure out! Again thank you!
Not sure if I’ll word this correctly (in fact it seems like a stupid question). But I was wondering how people are getting around the problem of needing two separate vehicles to complete a job with an aerial lift? One for the chipper and one for the lift? Or are people making 2 separate trips to...
Ya Mammut cord is way to stiff! If the hitch loosens even a little it will not bite (not good!)...I may just use some old bee line and forget the Mammut cord...

Maybe I should just buy some tenex...
Okay, so I bought some 11mm rope and 8mm friction cord and I tied a schwabisch knot on it, but unless the knot is dressed and set really well it won't grab...obviously I'm concerned...how do I get these new ropes to grab each other better? Different knot? Scuff rope up a bit? Is it bad rope...
Couldn't say it better...if I bought a $700 dollar tax included new crossbow, it could take a $200.00 dollar price drop after i walk out of the shop...
I try to buy like new used...

Does anyone know...Is the moon really made out of cheese? Or is that too off topic? Lol no worries about the derailed thread, just let me know if someone has a 6-9" morbark or bandit for sale under $9000.00...
:)

Derail away, that's okay Nic and others lol :)...Ben thanks, looks too big for me, but i'll PM you. Chuck and Ducks freak me out every time I YouTube them...branches shouldn't turn to chips that fast....yikes! :) lol...

DMc I see your points, I think I'm just on the edge of what you're describing...I find there's no comparison dealing with the shear volume of brush on some jobs...with a good quality 6" chipper I can decimate a pile of brush in 2 hours that would take me all day with an average trailer...Sean, I...
hey guys,
I see many of your points they make sense to me, and after reflecting on my present situation and my goals for the business...I thought I should give you all some context regarding my situation. Presently I work for a city assisting the Arborist (doing lots of tree work...bucket truck...
Ya, good points in my opinion brendonv (i couldn't say it better) and yes anything over 6" is fire wood to me. And I do like quality as much as possible, but I won't be spending $15,000 or more on a brand new 6 inch...
