i can deal with the shorter pulls im more so concerned about having my system tight when working on a spar, or is that more of just a backup that doesnt really stay taught its just there in the event you gaff out or something.

51 overnight. 26 now and dropping. Winds with gusts up to 70 mph. Lots of dead ash blowing over. Saw a power pole with a transformer on it snapped off half way up.

Lots of 4 and 5 footers that we joked you could literally cut with a skill saw.
3 or 4 inches of sound sap wood is all they had. Took 15 to 25 feet off the butts usually before you'd hit sound wood. Trees were shorter than the stuff down here. Lots of snags. And lots of bears.
It was wet. 10 days all summer it didn't rain. It gets old.
No hardwoods to cut. All spruce and hemlock. The hemlock was all rotten on the butts. Lots of Huckleberry brush, and bugs.
