Skylining/ high-leading 450 pound micro chipper into forest

I need someone with some good math (or the Google) to calculate lateral loads. I think that with two people with intercoms with two power sources for tensioning, it should go well. As a starting point, I hope to just move the chipper cross-country, maybe with some MA or pull rope on a...

Skylining/ high-leading 450 pound micro chipper into forest

Shouldn't be toooo hard. I'd go with the rope, myself. Lots of rigging to set it up...and you'd need some strong pull available to both lift the skyline after the load is attached and to retrieve it back uphill. A bit tricky to keep the load fixed under the carriage as the skyline is hoisted...

I’m not much of a pruner and don’t have my copy of FGTW. :-)

Today I cut down an ash tree that is infested with Chalara fraxinea. Ash drying affects trunks, branches and leaves, causing bark necrosis and premature drying of tree tops. The disease is spread through planting plants, seeds and wood of the genus Fraxinus sp. I have a new trophy.

Skylining/ high-leading 450 pound micro chipper into forest

Not sure on nomenclature. Thoughts on wire rope or 5/8" stable braid as a skyline. If like to move the chipper about 75' across the forest. Tall trees are around. Headed downhill to work site, then back up to the road at the end. I could probably reduce the weight by 100 pounds by detaching...

If a tree grows at a very steep angle, the trunk shape is not perfectly round.)Here is a typical example... P.S. It is very convenient to count annual rings.)

that thing is possibly the nicest rig I've ever worked with, its size and capacity make it a really sweet tree machine, 3K pound picks almost 100 feet away and a 170ft tip height work out nicely for my area, at the expense of driveways I changed my buddies contact card to Joe Biden just for the...

    How'd it go today?

A house burned down a few years ago. They removed the house and left the concrete foundation and concrete driveway. Now they want to rebuild but need the concrete to go away first so they can start fresh. I can do that with my Avant.
