    Hanging limbs

The multiple slings I have used and tossed out o the tree with the limbs and collect them once on the ground, but if the limbs are not over targets I can see the WHY in having only one sling now.

    Hanging limbs

Reg, I may have missed it in the explanation. Is there a way to use only use the prussic, I like minimal gear. I imagine the sling is easier to take off and throw the last piece down. Have you done it with only the prussic before? This really useful, thanks for the pics, love the...

    SRT near miss

Glad it was only a near miss, redundancy it systems can be good and bad. I tried a hand ascender under my hitch climber pulley once, worked really nice, but don't like the metal on metal. Now the only cam I use is the pantin.

    GRCS...what lines are best?

We used the GRCS a lot and found 9/16 and 5/8 (both used on most trees) stable braid to work the best, dynasorb I love on tops, but we had trouble with "binding" on the spool to only use the stable braid ropes. I agree the 3/4 was used once a year.

    Beginner Tree Climbing Tips

I would recommend using only a rope to tie the blake's hitch. I use the VT and if you are comfortable and practiced "low and slow" I see no problems, every hitch behaves differently. I still at times (if need to double crotch or move to another tree), will take the end of my climbing line and...

    SRT base tie question

I prefer the mini-porty with a prussic back-up. The trunk wrap with the doubled running bowline is use most of the time on routine pruning and up/down removals for less gear to carry around.

looking for a better pad for climbers

Need some advice on different pads for climbers. I have the super wrap pads on my spikes right now, and time to retire them they seem to twist on the shank to much. I have Geckos at work however not going to invest in them for sidework. Any thoughts, looking at the Aluminum pads.
