    Bulldog Bone

Cory please see your private message. Here is a video from 2 1/2 years ago (Thanks to Paul Poynter) about the Bone that highlights the optional swivel that can be installed directly on the Bone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-khQ8d9V1NI

The Bone does work with a 3 to 1, It works well with a pulley above, and the Bone itself folds up to release, forming a radius curve on the rope about the same diameter as a hitch climber pulley. The Bone works on a doubled rope also, but its primary design is SRT.

Sean, please see private message. Another nice thing about the Bulldog Bone is, all the wear parts are easily replaceable.

Just want to add that the Bulldog Bone needs no spring, and that the bottom arm adjusts automatically as the climbers weight creates friction between the high carbon steel friction link and the spine of the Bone. : )

The adjustable Bulldog Bone I make now has been available since May 2016. I do make another Device called the BOLA which is designed to be a lanyard adjuster and has to be threaded on rope and is not adjustable, but with the right rope and climbers weight it will do SRWP. The Bone is designed...

What is the Circle of Death?

It is called a BOLA, I designed it as a lanyard adjuster that will release when weighted. Here is a video John made that shows its use better than my poor description. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNNaaQ_L_A8 <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/SNNaaQ_L_A8"...

What is the Circle of Death?

The lanyard would run from the top teardrop around and back through the stainless steel arms. the bottom teardrop would attach to your harness. You could have the lanyard terminate at the side of your saddle also, but then you would not be isolated from the circle. You can adjust the BOLA on...

What is the Circle of Death?

If you terminate the lanyard back into the top teardrop attach point it would remove the climber from the circle.

Here is an email I have received from an adjustable Bulldog Bone user. Do not try to adjust the bollard while weighted. "Hy Gordon, I learned something important about the new adjustable toparm today! Don't adjust it when hanging on the Bdb, because that way you'll screw out not only the bolt...

Here it is. While this Bone has been called the XL version, and is a dedicated Vortex Bone because of a wider spacing in the upper arm and a shorter pivot length, It actually is smaller because of the shorter upper arm. I think maybe I should call it the stubby Bone : ) notice the stainless...

I could have parts made from titanium if you desire, but it would be expensive.

Max, there was a heavy climber who was having slippage, so I suggested he try the elongated bollard. There is no down side I can see, except perhaps it does not release as smoothly. He loves it. How does your on the knee modification release? Perhaps watch out for wearing a sharp leading edge?
