The Bone does work with a 3 to 1, It works well with a pulley above, and the Bone itself folds up to release, forming a radius curve on the rope about the same diameter as a hitch climber pulley. The Bone works on a doubled rope also, but its primary design is SRT.

Sean, please see private message. Another nice thing about the Bulldog Bone is, all the wear parts are easily replaceable.

Just want to add that the Bulldog Bone needs no spring, and that the bottom arm adjusts automatically as the climbers weight creates friction between the high carbon steel friction link and the spine of the Bone. : )

The lanyard would run from the top teardrop around and back through the stainless steel arms. the bottom teardrop would attach to your harness. You could have the lanyard terminate at the side of your saddle also, but then you would not be isolated from the circle. You can adjust the BOLA on...

If you terminate the lanyard back into the top teardrop attach point it would remove the climber from the circle.

Max, there was a heavy climber who was having slippage, so I suggested he try the elongated bollard. There is no down side I can see, except perhaps it does not release as smoothly. He loves it. How does your on the knee modification release? Perhaps watch out for wearing a sharp leading edge?
