Any of y'all try the Tenkara style of fly fishing? Looks pretty simple and super light for back country travel.

Never tried it - I just pack a super light fly rod & reel & fish traditionally

Cool. I can see the advantage of when you are hiking like in our mountains here. I might even like it better than our traditional fly fishing. Thanks for sharing that John.

That wont work on the big rivers, but creeks no problems. Roll cast is the fundamental technique.

i guess folks do are larger waters.....mostly small creeks here.
