What WLL ratchet straps do you use? It’s for holding a tree together or reinforcing a co dom. Any particular brand?
all mine are either keeper or smart strap brand I think, TSC special when I needed straps, I think 3300 pound WLL and like 16K break strength or something
gonna be honest, even in a tree to hold a codom together, id use chain, ive almost 100% gotten away from straps unless its really tiny stuff, even my 3000 pound mini skid gets a 4 point tiedown with 5/16 or 3/8" chain
Love the wedge idea to keep the chain in place!!Chains and wedges for holding codoms together.
wedge to pull the chain tight, or is this to wedge the tree over instead of pulling on the top too hard?Chains and wedges for holding codoms together.
ok, makes sense, thanks!Keep the chain tight
Dem hooks gonna get connected! I like Patrick’s idea but it’s too much like work.gonna do what patrick did? or connect the hooks like all us normal guys?
I waited till 7pm to go outside and fix (remove with a death wheel) my bent chipper chute end, too hot out for work!but it’s too much like work.
Yes, chain for barber chair prevention fo sho. I’m digging the wedge trick. Can’t wait to try. Thick side facing ground seems the best orientation.I tighten a chain with wedges around a trunk to prevent barber chairs.
Generally, 1 or more 3,333 WLL/ 10K breaking strength to pull a split tree together...easy to tighten as weight is taken off during dismantling.
Seems easier for them to slide out that way, no? Gravity would pull chain down and help cinch the chain? On the other hand, the wedges could fall out of the butt was downwards.Butt of wedges upward.
