My first real board was a lance mountain and then I remember having a few dog town decks after that. I was a serious rebel (lol) being Lumby's first real punk skater. I suffered, but loved it. Had my ass handed to me a few times by rednecks, just made me more hardcore(lol). Or moreso it taught me how to fight. Gave it up when I was about 15 I think.

My first board was a used Lance Mountain with Indy 215's (whopping) and Bones 3 wheels I think (also whopping), then moved up to a new Tony Hawk with Tracker Ultralights and some better wheels. Those were the days.

Funny the things you can remember from, probably, 25 years ago.

I never thought DK's sang Skate and Destroy.

Remember, maybe his name was Jonny Rad, at the Blue Tile Lounge, lounge-singing Skate and Destroy, in one of the BB's videos?

Bodean answered that question, In search of Animal Chin was the film with Jonny Rad.

The original Powell stuff is worth a fortune now and the Santa Cruz screaming hand type of stuff, friend of mine sells all the new- old retro gear including all the SE bike range.

This is one of me about 12 years ago at a local skate park. i was rocking a set of Swiss Bones bearing b/c they were the fastest you could get at the time. Maybe we can have a "Tree House skate day" and everyone can get together and hurt themselves!!

I must just be a big chicken, even back when I was a youngster. No way would I have ever thought of launching my tender, breakable body off into stuff like that vid shows.

I couldn't even finish watching!

Ha, awesome thread Paul!! I still ride my skate a few times a week but that's only cause the local river has 4 miles of concrete bike path next to it.... and I fish A LOT!! I can cover a lot of river with my skate so it's nothing to bounce from hole to hole.... and it's a convenient chair at times too. lol

Hey Paul, thought I'd show you and old deck that I keep hung up in the garage.:)

I had a 7' high quarterpipe for about 4 years. I bet we watched the original bones brigade video more than 100 times. One of my coolest sticks was my Madrid Mike Smith M-Tech with Indy 215s and rat bones. Have friends in the industry, at Alien Workshop.
Got to stand on the rollout during practice for the 1986 NSA Vert National @ Mt. Trashmore in Virginia Beach. Rode some of the first Snowboards in WV back in '84. There is a Tony Magnuson Hell Concave with Indy 169s and 97D Crossbones in the garage below me.

We lived the life.
