Ms 250 chain moves when starter rope is pulled.

Hi all. A friend of mine has an MS 250 Stihl. He got it from a family member who told him it didn't start. When you pull the handle, the chain turns. I haven't gotten my hands on it yet, but it sounds like either the clutch is shot or its so full of gunk it won't disengage.

What say you?

Maybe gunked up or weak clutch springs. Also the bearing on the shaft that the clutch sits over should be checked out.
