I'm excited, put a couple jobs off till it gets here

If Willie hadnt wanted it I would have snapped it up, damn nice truck for a great price IMO, now I just pray it makes it home.....

Some random musings:

A) Based on the color scheme that is an old Virginia Power company truck (prior to the name change to Dominion Electric).
B) I grew up in the Charlottesville area, first on Rio Road before we were annexed into the city and then later on Piney Mountain north of the airport.
C) I am now in Lexington, KY, but all my saws and equipment are back in VA.
D) Prior to my move I did a lot of of running in the Wintergreen area.

What kinda race are you doing?? I rode up Reids Gap on my bicycle once and said never again. I dont mind climbing but that sucker is so steep and is as straight as a highway, no curves to block the rest of the hill/ break it up

Damn dude, just saw this truck in Tree Trader. What a deal you got man!! I was excited for a sec, thought I found the perfect truck for Dad. Took a closer look, was like wait a sec, I know this truck. lol. Awesome deal you got dude.

Whats the terrain/elevation like? The couse map says 1200ft of elevation change but that seems very low given the topography of the surrounding area.

I have only skied at the resort, I have never run on the trails there though I have spent a lot of time on the Appalachian Trail both north and south of that. To the south you can get 3000' climbs in on both The Priest and Three Ridges by starting at the crossing at the Tye River on Rt. 56.

I have also spent a lot of time on The Slacks/Torrey Ridge trail systems on the west side of the mountain as well as in the St. Mary's Wilderness. There are still a couple of spots where you can view the old mining equipment from the magnesium mines in St. Mary's. I also just ran from Rockfish Gap up and around Humpback Rock last month.

Here are a couple of local breweries you may want to check out. If you go to Blue Mountain get the six beer sampler.

I used to run with a fellow who would train for 100 miles races by running multiple loops up and over Reed's Gap on 814. I have never run up it, but had to bail out on a run once due to snow and came down that way.
