Impatiently waiting for my carb rebuild kit to arrive. Got the tank cleaned out, new fuel pump in, and am trying to save up for tires. I pulled her seats and put them in the house, and wrapped her with a tarp in the meantime.
Poor little dirt bike is down, the ignition coil is just about shot. Once it heats up, the bike starts sputtering and eventually dies. Not fun on blind corners and blind hills, which is the whole dadgum county. Some days she'll run for an hour, some days about 10 minutes. Need to put a new rear tire on it too, last years Shinko is getting pretty smooth, which makes the gravel "interesting" and "exciting"
Spring, summer and the greatest riding weather one could ask for is right around the corner, and I'm really hoping to get Erika rolling.
Still have a paperwork issues to deal with, which may prove expensive. With the cost of registration and insurance and such in California, I plan on papering the bike back home. Also, there's a proposed milage tax that looks like it's going to be a thing soon. I've heard 7-9 cents a mile. That would cost me an additional $2, just going to town and back. Thus, I have to get me and the paperwork back to AZ and get things set up there, and I'll probably have to take the train. I wanted to get it taken care of in January when I went, but just didn't have the funds.
Getting antsy to go riding.
