There is another tree behind the boulder with bark that I have never seen. I'll have to get a pic on the next trip.

they are uncommon here btw.

That's a pretty vigorous pace, especially on a hiking trail where the tread is often somewhat irregular. I hike slower, for sure...more like 2.5 mph. I like to slow down/stop briefly to look around a fair bit, too :).

Endorphines flowing

Still hitting the trails. Seeing improvements in time and speed every day, and doing it with less effort. Did a new trail today that had some good uphill sections that gave me a good challenge. The charts are always interesting. This was my last time at Drury Preserve, my goto trail. Not only was it a record, but I had to clear l clear a tree of the boardwalk with the KatanaBoy halfway through. (Timed out, of course).

You carry a katanaboy? :dude:

Good hike and fun graphs.

Your trail and woods looks identical to mine. So do me a favor- I have a question and it involves seeing a bit of bird poop on top of virtually every rock you see in the trail, lmk if you see that in your woods. I just noticed it in mine and I'm wondering wth.

KatanaBoy has a sling on the pouch. I wondered why, until yesterday. I knew the tree was on the trail, so I brought it with me. Haven't noticed the bird poop, but I'll keep an eye out for it.

Last week I cut a bigger tree off the trail with the 395xp, but it was 100' from the parking area. KatanaBoy was easier for the 2.5 loop. Got a lot of sawdust in my shoes from the chainsaw wearing shorts.

That looked like a lot of tree to cut up by hand saw

I've added interval training to the mix. Interestingly, the numbers are about identical to the previous record, (posted above) but a more intense workout. It is suggested that interval training is good for improving insulin sensitivity.

I sense a trail marathon in Dave's not too distant future

Not sure about that. Definitely making improvements. This is one of those what doesn't kill you makes you stronger situations.
