Spark Plug brand is the absolute best for me. 35 decibels reduction. I can’t hear shit with those things in and with muffs I can only imagine it’s The Sound of Silence.

You can retrofit the Protos with 3M ear defenders, if you change the attachment brackets.. Takes them up to 32snr.

I quit using my Protos as the ear muffs were sub-standard and went back to a Kask with full-sized ear protection. Have they improved noise attenuation in the newer ones?

used to have a kask plasma(?), tried all kinds of different muffs. the only good thing was that my glasses did‘nt hurt from being pressed against my skull. protos muffs seem way better. some people put those green/gray 3m muffs on the protos (you need adaptors) and report much better hearing protection.

I didn't notice any less protection from the Protos over the Sena Tough Talk M muffs, maybe even an improvement. They fit very well. Overall very impressed with the whole system. The 10R Sena serms to be much clearer than the Tough Talks, as well.
