Does anyone here use them, and if so, any recommendations? I was looking around and the price range is amazing... just check this one out! Is it necessary to spend so much???

But I'm not looking for a smooth, rub your face against your significant other shave... I just wanna knock the stubble off.

Butch, I picked up a $35 rechargeable beard trimmer from Wal-Mart that does the trick for that. Made by Wahl, if I remember correctly. It only lasted for about a year before it died, but for 35 bucks I'm not complaining.

Ah yeah, that's what I normally do. I use a Wahl hair buzzer thing that I've used on my hair since 2004. When I do shave I use a Gillette Fusion.

Yeah get some hair trimmers from Walmart and you're good too go! I shaved for the first time in a few months a couple nights ago.

I'm using cheap razors at this point since my Norelco died at twelve years.
Bought three sets of replacement blades in a dozen years.
Prices have gone up a lot in 12 years time!

Hair trimmers? I have hair trimmers, that's how I cut my hair.

I'm talking about electric razors.

I've used a Phillips nearly every day for about thirty years, on my third one now but only because the foils wore out and it's cheaper to by a new one than to replace them.

The one in your link is top of the line, I just use the Power Touch dry shave and I don't need a rechargeable one. Tried Remington once, they're not bad and Braun is good but I can't complain about Phillips they give a pretty close shave. http://www.philips.com.au/c/mens-shaving/28693/cat/

I've been using a $70 Remington for a couple years now. It actually does a better job on my chin than a razor will and does a pretty close shave without the nicks and razor burn.

Back when I did shave I used a Norelco on occasion .It worked but in my opinion not as a good as a blade .Fact I only used it if I ran out of blades .

My Phillips one has been good to me too. I only use it to buzz my lip every morning but it's been doing a great job for around 11 years I think. It's one of those 3 head wet/dry ones.

I do occasionally use it for my whole face but I try to make it about 5 days between razor shaves.

I use a Whal beard trimmer with out the guard. I think I have shaved clean twice in the last sixteen years.

Butch, an electric razor will not take down a 'beard' only cut stubble to clean shaven. A beard trimmer will cut a beard to stuble.

You dont want one with the screen though, thats more like an electric razor, you want the one that looks like a mini hair trimmer.

The beard trimmers do a great job and if you push hard it gets pretty darn close very quickly and pain free!

Wahl makes the best 'trimmers' likely while Braun makes the best 'razors'.

Wahls can be had @ reasonable money but the Braun self cleaning units can go as high as $300-400 for series 5&7 models. I have 'heard' the high end Brauns are worth it if you shave clean every day.

The 'lower' series models are more affordable.

Again, for your needs I think a Wahl trimmer would be perfect.

They range from $10-150 dollars but I would read the reviews and buy in the middle of that range for a good one.

For me out of the Remington, Braun and Norelco. The Norelco triple head works the best and lasts the longest on a charge.

:edit which I now see Norelco is Phillips

I know the difference between a beard trimmer and an electric razor. My biggest concern is how long the blades stay sharp and easy/expensive it is to replace them.

Thanks for all the responses, guys!

All of them are easy to change, pop off the old pop in new.
All brands have lasted me well over a year before needing new heads.

Yea my heads last forever. I also rotate them because the top 2 see the most action. Mine has a flip out trimmer arm for cleaning up sideburns and around the ear. I really like that feature and would def recommend one that has it.
